The Hellenic Semester, under the auspices of the Municipality of Ispra and Regione Lombardia and in co-operation with the Ispra Pro-Loco group, is holding a running event on Sunday 8th of June, in Ispra. The event consists 2 non-competitive races:

• ½ marathon
• 5km

Running Races Participation to the races is free of cost and open to everyone. In order to subscribe, send an e-mail to marathon@hellenicsemester.com. For participants under 18 years old, parental consent is a requirement. The local police of Ispra and Ranco will be supervising the event and an ambulance with trained paramedics will be present throughout the duration of the races.

Routes

Both races will start from the Parking in front of JRC’s main entrance at 10:00am and will finish at the lake in Ispra, at the Piazzale Rapazzini, in front of the Hotel Europa. Refreshments will be distributed at 2 points along the ½ Marathon route, as well as at the end of both races. The routes can be downloaded here: 5km , ½ Marathon

Prizes

½ Marathon

• 1st man and 1st woman to finish: a trip to the Greek island of Spetses, including air-tickets and accommodation, as well as participation to the Spetses mini Marathon.
• 2nd man and 2nd woman: a trip to the Greek island of Spetses, including accommodation and participation to the Spetses mini Marathon.
• 3rd man and 3rd woman: participation to the Spetses mini Marathon, plus a small bag, specially designed for running by the greek company Salty Bag, as well as some greek products.

5 km

• 1st to finish (either man or woman): a copy of an original ancient greek golden olive branch
• First 3 men and first 3 women: Small bag, specially designed for running by the greek company Salty Bag, as well as some greek products.
