Eternity and a Day

Alexander, a bearded poet, leaves his seaside apartment in Thessaloniki after learning he has a terminal illness and must enter a hospital the next day for an unspecified "test". He is trying to get his affairs in order as he has little time left to live. He faces the dilemma of dying as a stranger to itself, or to learn how to love, to commit and to be expressed with people that is he near. He tries to settle things with his daughter; his feelings of despair are interrupted, complicated and finally, to some extent, banished by memories of happier times with his wife and by an encounter with a young Albanian orphan.
